CONVERSATION WITH GOD 6
“It’s so easy with you, Jay; this, us-being here with you. All of it. I never want this to end.” I sighed, smiling. “It’s been a while I slept this peacefully, I just can’t put a finger to it.”
“Yeah, I know with a smile on your face, you are altogether lovely NK and salvation sure does look good on you.” He winked.
I felt the heat rise up to my cheeks and I quickly sauntered my way to the kitchen. “How long has it been, you know this conversation?” I peered into each area of the near-empty cabinet, in search of something to eat. “Thinking about it, it’s odd that I haven’t gotten any mails from work. My PA hasn’t even come around for her daily briefing.” I paused, my arms akimbo as I leaned on the kitchen counter.
“Let’s just say you needed a timeout, a get-away; a much needed leave of absence.” He narrowed his gaze. “I know you’re hungry. I have been told once by some friends that my barbecued fish is the GOAT. Come on let’s go fishing.
One bite was all it took for my taste buds to be tantalized.
“I agree with your friends Jay, this is the best grilled fish ever, and the bread is amazing.” I commended savoring another bite.
“Interestingly, I am sometimes called the bread of life.”
“Very funny.”
“There is never a dull moment with me. You know, contrary to what many people think, Christianity isn’t boring. It’s a journey of a life time.”
I raised an eye brow while I took a sip of water.
“Yeah, I mean look at you. One minute you are saved, the next you are having a treat of the best grilled fish and baguettes known to man.” He smiled, “some millennia back this would have served three thousand guests o.”
I belched much to my embarrassment.
“See, even your stomach agrees with me.” Jay burst out laughing and I couldn’t help but join him.
“But more than I’d love to feed you with food, I long to feed you with me. ‘cos you’re blessed when you have worked up a good appetite for me. I’m food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.”
“What are you most hungry for NK?” his eyes, serious and searching to finally love you? Success? Approval and accolades? Revenge?”
The last words struck a familiar chord and I looked away.
