Continuing from last week's post, we'll progress in our investigation to ascertain the relevance of the most ancient one—God—in today’s world. We've seen that God and His word are one, and that He is the initiator of all things—if there ever was a “Big Bang theory”, well, He put the 'bang' in it.
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
—John 1:3, KJV
Everything is created and sustained by His word.
“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”
—Colossians 1:16, KJV
Everything needs Him to exist. Without Him, nothing is held in place. Everything that will find and truly fulfill purpose, must be found in him.
“He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him.”
—Colossians 1:17, NET
God is the cohesive force of the universe, the rallying point of all things. If this is true, then there has never been a time when God and His word were not relevant.
It goes to say, that the opposite will be true for things not in Him. Whatever is not found in God will be out of place, mismanaged or desecrated.
Staying with the central theme of our investigation; “relevance”, it would mean that whatever is not found in God, loses its relevance.
I want you to ponder on these things we have looked at today, and ask yourself these question:
Is God and His word relevant today? And does God and His word have a place in 'our' 21st century?
I call you blessed!
