PRAY FOR ME ~ OVERCOMING THE DRAG

Good day beloved. Now, we've spent the past weeks examining and emphasizing the fact that as believers we ought to pray for one another. And we have also seen that the words“pray for me” is in no way a cliché.

Let us take a look today at one hindrance that is common to men as it concerns fulfilling this holy practice—procrastination!

'Procrastination'is to put off intentionally and habitually something that should be done. In this case, it would involve putting off intentionally and habitually till another time, the action of praying for a person.

“Okay, I will pray." is almost always the response to the request, "pray for me". Eight out of ten times thoughwe push this prayer to a 'better time'—A more 'convenient' time, when we will be comfortable or in our best state to do so.

In many cases, we never truly create that 'perfect timeor we forget totally we were asked to pray. Sometimes, we only remember we were asked to pray, when we see the person again or when they finally reach us via a call or text to informus of the unwanted outcome. At that point, it is usually too late, because the very thing you were asked to pray against, has come to pass.

So, how then can we overcome this unacceptable behavior of procrastinating prayer to a 'better time'? By praying heartfelt prayers immediately!

Some time back, I called a mentor to pray with me concerning a situation on two different occasionsand she prayed with me immediately over the phone. Now I know she later prayed about the same issues because she kept calling to check up with me about the way things were progressing.

That day I learnt somethingthe key to actually fulfilling the request is to pray immediately with the person. If this is not possible, immediately take a moment and pray for the person or circumstance.

Let them know you are praying about the situation by reaching out to them in whatever way possible. Share words, scriptures or revelations that came to you when you prayed.

The key again is this, pray heartfelt prayers immediately and as you do so, you will receive words and scriptures. Send them to the individualinvolved. This will bless them and their situation.

Brethren, pray for us.”
