BEYOND OUR FEELINGS

Hey there beautiful person!

So you woke up today not really feeling into God or life. For some reason, this morning holds a very alarming undertone ("more like an overtone to me", you might be mumbling right now.) of gray and Mother Nature seems not to have that vivid glow today. 

Even the regular "thumping" sound your heart makes when you think of Father doesn't seem to be there. And right now, it already feels like today is going to be an awful day. It sincerely feels that way!

Well, this is the word for you today. Everything about you is patterned after God's beauty. This means that irrespective of how you feel, your life is a beautiful piece - a work of art. I find this very reassuring. 

So you haven't been feeling really into God or people lately. You don't even know why and it's causing you to panic and look back to the old times. You're wondering where that wonderful feeling went. Those emotions that backed up seasons of intense loving on God and man. That made it seem like doing that was the best thing in the world. Right now, those emotions seem to be missing. 

I happily let you know today that in spite of how you feel currently, you are a package of joy, love, light, and peace. And your intimacy with God and man can be groomed to the stage where it soars beyond the control of your emotions. Now, I'm not saying emotions are a bad thing. Oh no, far from it. In fact, emotions make acts of loving more pleasurable to carry out. 

But since the focus of the father's heart for today is this, I just have to let you remember that His relationship with you though it includes your emotions, doesn't depend on it solely to thrive. 

The Father's love for you and for the rest of humanity is constant and unwavering. As a child of God, so is yours. Even on rainy, thunderous days with thick grey clouds the father sees you as his very delight. The very essence of warmth and love in a cold and seemingly dull season.

"You seem to be making a point, but I can't seem to understand what you expect me to do." might be the thought going through your head. 

Well dear one, here's what the father needs you to do: He needs you to stand up and say those words of prayer even though you're not feeling like it on such a "dreary, sleep-deprived" morning. He needs you to go to that class or to work with a song in your heart- a declaration of how good he is and how loved you are. He needs you to call that person and show them some tender, loving care even though you don't 'feel' like it. He needs you to see that you're far beyond the control of your feelings. 

Most times, it's never easy starting out. You'd feel like just going back to sleep or avoiding the conversation till you feel up to it. But the life God has called people to and is still calling people towards is one characterised by constancy of love and a great inner stability in spite of our surrounding factors. Step by step, we come to express the life of victory we received on accepting Jesus as Lord. And for the father, it is a thing of utmost delight!

REPEAT AFTER ME: I am a wonderfully prepared package of joy and love heading into this new week to show this in spite of how I feel per season. With total reliance on the Holy Spirit, I manifest all attributes of Love. I live life to God's fullest, in spite of my feelings.
