Like a greenhouse in winter...
A greenhouse is a place where plants are nurtured with the optimum temperature, nutrients, water, and light.. Everything necessary for their growth and reproduction.
Previously, we talked on the various seasons (times and circumstances) in a man's life, typified by the four Seasons.
This time however, we are going to be looking beyond that to focus on how we can stay in "Spring" ( focused, anchored and blossoming) within, even when the seasons of our lives are changing.
The Bible talks about the man whose delight is in God, and who meditates on God's word day and night. This man is not broken by the ever changing circumstances and events of life:
"Instead you thrill to God's Word,
you chew on Scripture day and night.
You're a tree replanted in Eden,
bearing fresh fruit every month,
Never dropping a leaf,
The Spirit of God within us makes available to us, God's very life. And when we keep our hearts focused on God's word, we find ourselves always full of life and light!( steadfastly anchored on God, immovable by delays, trials, disappointments, pains and failures).
When by the help of the Holy Spirit, the word of God comes to life before our very eyes, our hearts undergo a change, and we are hit with God's own view of our lives. This is what keeps us strong and full of hope even during trying periods.
We are able to journey through the various seasons with a song in our heart and His words in our mouth. We remain able to speak forth life and hope to our situations and stay calm and at rest even while God's power works in our lives to bring everything together for our good.
A man who focuses on the Word of God concerning him can be likened to the plants within the greenhouse during a blizzard. Looking from within the greenhouse outside, he can appreciate the changes that are occurring all around him without having his heart ravaged and consumed by it.
This is how God wants us to live. He wants us all to get to that point of our journey with Him where we can say that we can recognise the various seasons of our lives, learn from them, and yet do not have our growth and our lives controlled by those seasons. We can get to and stay in this stage of our walk through continuous fellowship with the Father and a constant affirmation and thorough understanding of what His word says about us.
Our Father has called us to a life of victory, regardless of what the circumstances surrounding us may be. In God, we have Life in full, and overflowing!
