SEASONS

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"[Ecclesiastes 3:1]
There are times and there are seasons in a man's life.
Nature, all of God's creations have tried to show us this through what we've come to know as "the four seasons- Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter".

In Springseeds are just beginning to sprout. We see flowers starting to bloom, and fields being bathed with the freshest, most beautiful shades of green, some of which men have not been able to trap on a canvas. Relating it to a man's life, these are those periods when we catch those new ideas. When new knowledge has just been learnt. Those periodwhere we have freshly made or recently modified plans and set goals and we feel nothing can stop us now.

It'Summer, the first fruits are here! The sun is high. We see lots of possibilities around. The man is still going strong with the wind in his sails. What could possibly go wrong?

And then there's FallThings seem to be slowing down a bit. The green leaves are fading and falling in bits. Animals are starting to slow downAs for man, he's getting a little tired. Things are starting to seem monotonous. The smile that was once effortless, nostrained.

Winter comes, and the leaves disappear. The fruits seem to have never existed. Most animals are in hiding or are hibernating. To the man, it seems the dark days are here. Memories of the sunny days fade away, and all he sees is cold ice. "Was there ever life?" he mutters to himself. Everything feels stagnant and to the outsider all that is seen is deathloneliness, and failure. The man despairs about the bleakness in his life. This is the lowest point and he seems unable to come out of it.

However, there is hope. For those who believe in Jesus Christ a difference is seen. Because during the moments of 'winter' we hear a voice that whispers to the depths of our souls and tells us there is more. We know not to just lie down in the cold, broken and tired. But we remember the glorious seasons of before and we encourage ourselves in the Lord. Taking notes from our past mistakes and learning. Promising to do better when spring comes again. For it always does! And this is because the life within can never be smothered or buried.

The Holy Ghost, forever at work keeps stirring us on our insides to persevere, learn, prepare, then get up and break out into our newest season. And as the rising sun or a budding plantwe spring up from the ashes of our past experiences and march on into a new spring filled with colour and light.
Dear ones, hard times come and then they go. The Father wants us to stand strong in times of winter with the knowledge that there is spring around the bend, because he promises that it'll all work together for our good in the end. Even in our coldest and darkest moments let us be assured that God is with us working it all out according to his divine purpose.
