Have you ever wondered why some people always walkaround with a long face? Why they seem to always have this air of sadness around them? Have you ever taken out time to ponder on the probable reasons why most of these people are up and smiling when circumstances are good and face down when they are not?
Have you noticed that some people always carry about a long face, happy situation or not?
And that there are also certain people who are always joyful and a pleasure to be with?
Wonder no more! The people in the former categories all lack Joy. Either that or they have not learnt to apply it in their day to day lives. This lack of joy is what is transmitted from within them to the surface as an air of sadness. And it impacts negatively on them and those around them.
Joy, is an indispensable commodity for a successful life. It is one gateway to victory that many individuals ignore.
Joy has its root from within individuals. It is not a product of external happenings. A man who is joyful, regardless ofwhether things are good or bad, is a man who has the key to a healthy and successful life.
“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” (Isaiah 12:3 KJV).
You can’t afford to not be joyful. Joy gives you access to untold blessings in life. Nothing is worth loosing your joy for.
“A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression.” (Proverbs 17:22 TPT)
Joy in you is health to your body and soul. And you certainly need a healthy body and soul to prosper in life. For many, the sole reason they are sick today is because they refuse to retain joy in their lives: daily observations have shown me that at the root of their problems is a lack of joy.
One great inhibitor of joy is having a heart that is moved by every circumstance that befalls a person: a life dictated by what is present or not. There is a better way to live! We are told to live beyond things. Do not anchor your life to anything under the sun. Instead, set your gaze above to the saviour. Set in on Jesus.
Every believer has a source of joy that never runs dry, He is the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23). Live from that well of joy within you.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION: "I have joy in me. My life is not controlled by life’s circumstances. Whatever the situation is, I choose to stay joyful. I never lose my joy."
Make this your daily confession, and note the definite changes!
