We all have that friend or relative who narrates a scenario so well that you get a complete picture of the event.
A few days back, my friend was recounting a meal she cooked. It got to a point, she talked about the fish she added to the meal. You should listen to her relish the moment. In her words, the smoked fish was “the game changer”.
If you keep up with sports, you will be familiar with the word “game changer”. There are some players who when they come into a game, instantly lift the morale of the whole team, and change the game for good.
Many times in our lives, we wished we had a game changer; someone or something that shows up and changes everything for good.
We seek for silver linings in thick dark clouds. Remember the story of Queen Esther and the Jews? The Bible said, Esther found favour in the sight of King Ahasuerus and it led to the salvation of the Jews from the death decree passed on them via Haman’s conspiracy. Queen Esther, was “the game changer”. (Esther chapters 3-7)
I have had many “game changer” moments in my life, for there is one who is so consistent: He changes the game anytime he shows up.
Humanity was on the path of destruction, but he showed up and 'voila',
the game changed. We are now on the path of life.
The disciples were in a boat and the storm came hard on them. They almost drowned, but when they called on him, he changed the game, and the storm ceased.( Mark 4:37-41).
These things are not stories. Jesus is still the game changer today, as he was yesterday. (Hebrews 13:8).
Are you pressed by life? Are your hopes fading out? Are your plans in ruins? Do you need the game changer?
You have tried everything! Have you truly tried Jesus? He wants to give you a new life. He wants to restore all you have lost. He wants to lift you up to glory.
“And when they poured out their pitcher for the master of ceremonies to sample, the water became wine! When he tasted the water that became wine, the master of ceremonies was impressed. (Although he didn’t know where the wine had come from, but the servers knew.)” (John 2:9 TPT).
