This holds true for things and people alike. When a man lacks the purpose for his existence, he will definitely abuse it.
The world is increasingly in a state of decay because many people don't know who they are and what is expected of them. Man, was created to have dominion over the earth.
The fall of man saw man leasing the earth to a corrupt being that promotes decadence. Man has struggled ever since to save the world from decaying and has failed.
Jesus restored man back again to dominion and one of the reminders he gave to the man before his death and resurrection was this; “Your lives are like salt among the people.” (Matthew 5:13 TPT).
Jesus was talking to believers all who believe in him.
Jesus was reminding the believer of his role on the earth. What could this role be? I believe by looking at the uses of salt to man will point us to the usefulness of man as salt to the earth.
Salt has long been used for flavoring and for preserving food, for cleaning purposes. And widely useful in the chemical industry.
It therefore means the believer is set over the earth to preserve her from decadence. The believer walks the earth giving flavor and putting the fragrance of heaven on earth.
As a believer, do you take responsibility as a preserver of the earth? Do you see yourself as the sweetness upon the earth?
It is time to consciously salt this earth, rescue the earth from decaying by applying kingdom truths in every place we find ourselves.
When you walk into a place, you are to consciously spread the fragrance of heaven there, make life better for the people there.
Jesus called you the light and the salt of the world. You are the light-salt of this earth. You must bring the civilization of heaven to bear on the earth.
Creation awaits your shine, eargerly they seek to see you get rid of the continuous decay seen in every sector and works of life.
