This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which plants and animals cannot flourish, hence its name. The Jordan River is the only major water source flowing into the Dead Sea. There are no outlet streams.
The last sentence hit me, there are no outlets? Water bodies stay fresh and alive by flowing, it's as if to say old water body's keep moving for new and fresh ones to take there place. So, they get renewed.
But that's not the case of the Dead Sea, it only receives from the Jordan river and has no outlet, in addition to its saltiness, plants and aquatic animals cannot flourish.
Are you thinking what am thinking? Nature is teaching us some hard truth here. You can't keep receiving without giving back. If all you do is receive without giving back, then like the Dead Sea, nothing will flourish in you.
Our lives find it's essence when we give out of what we have received. For truly everything we have was given to us.
If money is the only thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word “give” then you don't understand giving. If you want to give only when you overflow in abundance then you may never touch abundance.
He that is faithful in little will be faithful in much. So, the quantity of what you have now does not determine if you can give or not. No matter how small, we all have something to give.
“Remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
(Acts 20:35 NLT)
You want to flourish? Create an outlet, give. Don't be like the Dead Sea that only receives and has no outlet streams. Don't be dead while still alive, learn to give.
