THE EVERYDAY ANCHOR

It is easy and seems normal to base our lives on how we feel, who cares about us, who doesn't, when we will get paid, when we will graduate, when we will get married or when we will have our own children.

No doubt these things are present but we can also agree that these things are variables of life, though they will always be a part of us but they are constantly changing. They are like quick sand, you can't place anything on them, they sink.

Jesus said; “So I tell you to stop worrying about what you will eat, drink, or wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothes?” (Matthew‬ ‭6:25‬ ‭GW‬‬).

Many run with this scripture to mean Jesus said we should not plan for tomorrow, NO! Planning is different from worrying, what Jesus said was have no worries for tomorrow.

He further said instead of worrying “... first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you.” (Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭GW‬‬).

One of the ways to be concerned about his kingdom or to seek his kingdom first or not to worry about tomorrow as seen in the above scripture is to base our lives, better put anchor our lives on something that stands at all times, immovable by circumstances but sure and steadfast.

What is this thing that is stable yesterday, today and tomorrow? Here it is; “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭GW‬‬).

How do I place or build my life on Jesus? Believe his word, do his word and MOST IMPORTANTLY BE HIS WORD. We must come to the point where we live our lives as being what he has said we are.

It is time to take the necessary steps to effect the necessary change, we can no longer afford to base our lives on things that are today and tomorrow they are no more.
