Behind all the macho, well starched and properly iron shirt and pants hides a very terrified man. Who is so scared of his future that it stops him from moving forward and he can't share this with anyone because no one is caring enough to reveal this truth to.
When you use the words “How are you?” What do you really mean? Is it a cliche to you, a way of greeting or acknowledging the next person or are you really concerned about the person and you truly want to know how they are ?
The rate of depression in our world is increasing, suicide is on an all time high. People can't find anyone to truly open up to so they walk the dark paths alone and if they can't pull through, they pull the plug.
Today we laugh with one another, play hard, share many other things even call these people best friends but we know they don't care enough to know the deep things of our heart, how we truly are, So sad.
A few reasons why people can't open up to us is because, they don't think we care enough, they are scared you will distribute their inner burdens( of cause this days a problem shared is no longer half solved but an answer to facebook’s never ending question of “what's on your mind”).
Sometimes we are so judgemental people going through hard times can't come plain before us, this is common in church gatherings, quite unfortunate.
The Bible teaches; “You obey the law of Christ when you offer each other a helping hand.” (Galatians 6:2 CEVDC). King James Version says bear one another's burden.
Do you really care about the next man? Are you so perfect no one can come to you to speak of their troubles? ( as perfect as Jesus was, sinners were welcomed before him any day, anytime).
My advice, stay approachable, care truly and not on the surface. Don't share people’s burdens with the world when they confide in you. Be your brothers keeper. Don't act all knowing when they come to you broken, when it's difficult, open up to them it's difficult.
You might be the only thing between the next man and suicide. GO AND TRULY ASK A FRIEND “HOW ARE YOU TODAY?”
GO ACHIEVE
