Opportunity does not come once in a life time, contrary to
popular believes. The word opportunity means a time or set of circumstances
that makes it possible to do something, it also means favorable circumstances.
It is common to see people make use of this very saying;
“opportunity comes but once in a lifetime” This saying has structured the lives
of many into a life of regret and a better yesterday.
You hear things like, “only if I had loved her a little
better”, “if I had gone to school”, “if I had the right amount of money for that
business”, “if I had listen to my wife”,
the list goes on and on.
YES, OPPORTUNITIES DON’T COME ONCE IN A LIFETIME, THEY COME
BIGGER AND BETTER WITH EACH NEW DAY. People fail to see the power in each new
day. Every day comes with opportunities that are better than the previous day,
Just as today is greater in number than yesterday. How do I know this?
For God says, "Your cry CAME to me at a FAVORABLE TIME (opportunity), WHEN THE DOORS OF
WELCOME WERE WIDE OPEN (opportunity).
I helped you ON A DAY WHEN SALVATION WAS
BEING OFFERED (opportunity)." RIGHT
NOW GOD IS READY TO WELCOME YOU (another opportunity). TODAY HE IS READY TO SAVE YOU (another opportunity). (2 Corinthians
6:2 TLB).
Look at the above scripture very well, I have put in italics
some key words and in bold letter others. See, the words “CAME”, “WERE”, “WAS”
point to the fact that the opportunities are past, we can say gone with
yesterday. Maybe utilized and maybe not.
Now, I like you to see the words “RIGHT
NOW” AND “TODAY”, they point to yet another opportunity.
Proverbs 4:18 says; But the path of the just is as the
shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
Now, put both
scriptures together and you will see clearly that opportunities come, not just
once but again and again with each new day, bigger and better than yesterday’s.
If you know this,
you will not stop your life over a missed opportunity.
So quit staring at
yesterday’s opportunity, today and now has presented you with a better one.
Don’t lose today’s bigger and better opportunity looking at yesterdays.
Finally, remember, “For a tree there is always hope. Chop it
down and it still has a chance — its roots can put out fresh sprouts.” (Job
14:7 MSG)
Great is his faithfulness; HIS LOVING-KINDNESS BEGINS AFRESH
EACH DAY. (Lamentations 3:23 TLB).
