DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE ALL-EXPENSE PAID TRIP?

Tell me, if you have the legal rights to a MasterCard and the bank account reads an outrageous sum of money, the kind that will outlive you, what will you do, ignore it or spend it?

Many weeks ago, my colleagues had a discussion about an all-expense paid trip overseas and the prospect excited many. It means, all that anyone going for this trip will need has been provided already. Will it be in place for anyone going for this trip to spend their time looking for money to make the trip a success?

Then suddenly it dawned on me, this is exactly what Christ has done for the world. Many years ago, Jesus Christ transferred into your account all that you will ever need to live a glorious life here on earth and in the world to come and gave you the MasterCard.

What does these words of Christ on the cross, “IT IS FINISHED” mean to you? To me, in one word, DONE, in another PAID, and in another, OVER.

DONE; it means the legal agreement, to provide you and I with all we need to live a glorified life acceptable by God has been reached. “INDEED, UNDER THE LAW ALMOST EVERYTHING IS PURIFIED WITH BLOOD, AND WITHOUT THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS OF SINS.”(HEBREW 9:22 ESV)

PAID; the full price for this life has been paid. “HE GAVE HIMSELF AS A PAYMENT TO FREE ALL PEOPLE. HE IS PROOF THAT CAME AT THE RIGHT TIME.”(1 Timothy 2:6 NCV)

OVER; man’s struggle with the sinful nature is over. “WE KNOW THAT OUR OLD SINFUL SELVES WERE CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST SO THAT SIN MIGHT LOSE ITS POWER IN OUR LIVES. WE ARE NO LONGER SLAVES TO SIN” (Romans 6:6). WHEN SOMEONE BECOMES A CHRISTIAN, HE BECOMES A BRAND NEW PERSON INSIDE. HE IS NOT THE SAME ANYMORE. A NEW LIFE HAS BEGUN! (2 Corinthians 5:17 TLB).
