DOES ALL THINGS REALLY WORK FOR GOOD?

Do you really think that all things are working for your good? Have you ever stopped for a second to imagine how all things will work for your good? I think most times we hear words and hook line and sinker we start saying them, without even meditating on them, really juicing them to know what they mean.

This previous week I was faced with a situation, for now a major player in my life and the outcome at the end of the day was favorable to me, I found myself saying, “AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE” (ROMANS 8:28 KJV).

Not too long after that, in my spirit I heard gently, “what if this outcome was not favorable, will you be bold to say all things work for good?” This still small voice had me thinking. What about you, when you say “all things are working for your good, do you really mean all things?

This is 10 years now since you left school, you have applied for every job possible and yet you are jobless. My dear sister, a brother jilted you, regardless of the truth that you will die for him any day anytime and he has gone on to marry another. And you friend, you lost your dad, your only surviving parent and you just gained admission into the university.

How are we meant to say “all things works together for our good” with these hard and unacceptable facts of life? It seems only pleasant issues of life fall into the “all things” category.

I was speaking to a friend yesterday and he had earlier meditated on this line, he said to me, we fail to accept the “all things” truth when it is unfavorable because we see the circumstances of life as the totality of our life, we forget to see that it is but an event in our life and many events like it, favorable and unfavorable as they come make up life.

So yes, we know about people who years after leaving school find no job and are pushed to the point of starting their own company. We have seen jilted ladies and guys who later found awesome people who love them so much they see clearly why it never worked with their ex. And yes, we all have seen or heard about orphans who went ahead and graduated top of their class and even started a business or two while in school.

So, do I believe that all things, the good and the bad are working for my good? Absolutely yes! Should you see life this way? Emphatically, yes! The message translation puts it better;

THAT'S WHY WE CAN BE SO SURE THAT EVERY DETAIL IN OUR LIVES OF LOVE FOR GOD IS WORKED INTO SOMETHING GOOD. (ROMANS 8:28 MSG).

You will live your life with less worry, when you understand that every detail, every event is not the end of your life but they are put together, working for your good. Remember, BETTER IS THE END OF A THING THAN THE BEGINNING. (ECCLESIASTES 7:8).
