As early as 4:30am every day, I see people jogging around the
streets of the university where I school. Many because they want to burn off
fat, some because they want to stay fit and some, I believe for the fun of it.
HOW FIT ARE YOU?
Many of us fail to realize that the same way physical exercise keeps us
fit physically, spiritual exercise are needed to keep us fit spiritually. Did you
know, one can be fit or unfit spiritually?
Paul speaking to Timothy said this about spiritual exercise; Stay
clear of silly stories that get dressed up as religion. EXERCISE DAILY IN GOD –NO
SPIRITUAL FLABBINESS, PLEASE! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a
disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever.
You can count on this. Take it to heart. (1 Timothy 4:7-9 MSG).
Did you notice that daily spiritual exercise is non-negotiable
to keep fit spiritually? If so, how do we go about this, see what verse 6 has
to say; You've been raised on the Message of the faith and have followed sound
teaching. A daily and conscious practice of faith and pursuit of a life
of sound teaching is spiritual exercise.
HOW FIT ARE YOU? Did you notice that Paul told
Timothy what not to do, what to stay clear of? Same way people that exercise
for fitness stay clear of some food and drinks. DO YOU WONDER WHY YOUR WALK WITH GOD IS UP TODAY AND DOWN TOMORROW?
Wonder no more, what you need is daily exercise in God.
Learn to fellowship with God daily in prayers and in the word
and consciously practice the truth you find in the bible. Doing the word of God
is actually staying fit. EXERCISE DAILY IN GOD –NO SPIRITUAL
FLABBINESS, PLEASE!
