Hello friends, welcome to a great week. No doubt last week
was awesome for you. This week I write to you about something dear to my heart,
REST, WHY REST? When do you rest, how long do you rest or are you in a state of
perpetual rest?
Rest is basically a Relieve from work or activity, by
sleeping or any relieve from exertion, it is also a state of quiet and
relaxation. From these definition it is clear that rest is and should be a
consequence of work. Is this true with you? Today it is common to rest before
working.
Many times I have found myself resting without working, in
recent times my mind kept asking me, why rest when you have not worked. Wait a
second, do you find yourself in the same position? One thing that
differentiates achievers from non-achievers is work. How much time they spend
working on a particular goal.
It points to laziness when you always want to rest for hours
without true exertion. And lazy people, who shy from work never achieve
anything great. I heard Bishop Oyedepo said, “he works at least 18 hours every day” see how much he has achieved.
Let’s learn a lesson from the almighty God, “By the seventh day God had finished the
work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.”
(Genesis 2:2 NIV). The bible said God was done with the creation work
before he rested. He had a vision, create the earth, make it habitable, and
then make man. When all this was done He rested.
Now, don’t get me wrong by saying am kicking against rest,
no, am only kicking against resting perpetually without working for it. Rest is
like a pay for work. When resting becomes your habit, then mediocrity becomes you.
The bible puts it this way, “A little sleep, a little slumber, a
little folding of the hands to rest — and poverty will come on you like a
bandit and scarcity like an armed man.” (Proverbs 6:10 NIV).
GO ACHIEVE
