STRENGTH TO STAND

Hello friends, what a week we have before us, filled with diverse opportunities, hopes and the desire to accomplish more. No doubt there is nothing we desire that is not achievable.

In all that we desire, the place of sound knowledge can never be relegated. It is wisdom to sharpen a blunt knife before attempting to use it, if the desired aim must be achieved.

Today I want to remind us that knowledge on a particular goal has done 50% of the job already. The reason why we fail or back out many a times lies at the level of knowledge we have in a thing. Knowledge gives the strength to stand.

A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength (Proverbs 24: 5). And if you fail under pressure, your strength is too small. (Proverbs 24: 10). It is clear that knowledge gives strength to win, to win in your job, your family and your academics. In every strata of life you find yourself, knowledge is key. Let me share with you this piece I saw online about the Oak tree;

"The Oak Tree"

A mighty wind blew night and day

It stole the oak tree's leaves away,

then snapped it's boughs

and pulled it's bark

until the oak was tired and stark.

But still the oak tree held it's ground

while other trees fell all around...

The weary wind gave up and spoke,

"How can you still be standing, Oak?"

The oak tree said, "I know that you

can break each branch of mine in two,

carry every leaf away,

shake my limbs, and make me sway.

But I have roots stretched in the earth,

growing stronger since my birth.

You'll never touch them, for you see,

they are the deepest part of me.

Until today, I wasn't sure

of just how much I could endure.

But now I've found, with thanks to you,

I'm stronger than I ever knew."

It is clear the Oak tree knew where its strength lies, it is deeply seated in its roots. How deep those your knowledge go on that matter that has troubled you all along? I want to urge us as we go on winning this week to get knowledge hungry. Get books, tapes, attend seminars on anything that interest you or that you are into. You can’t be crying all day, STOP YOUR TEARS BY GAINING KNOWLEDGE ON THE MATTER.
