A cursory gaze at the events in the Old Testament and the New Testament in addition to the many hearsay and rumors about God will lead to unfounded and hasty conclusions about the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A detailed study of the Old and New Testament books of the Bible without a prejudiced mindset of who God is will do justice to the age long argument of the person of God.
From the above quotes and conclusions it will mean, either God changes or he is bipolar. Having a dual personality and is capable of switching moods on man.
To begin with, a God that changes from one character to another, or is affected by moods cannot call himself God. It defies the argument if he is God or not. For these are attributes of men and gods.
At least before you pass judgement on the polarity of God, hear him out.
“For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
Malachi 3:6 KJV
This is God’s statement of himself, “I change not”.
Except God is a liar, his statement of himself should be taken as truth. Again, if he is a liar, he will fall short of being a God. Other gods may lie not God.
Now, in the mouth of two or three witnesses the truth is established.
“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”
Numbers 23:19 NLT
God does not change his mind or lie, those are attributes of men and not God, maybe that will be a story for the gods.
“Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever; they will wear out like old clothing. You will change them like a garment and discard them. But you are always the same; you will live forever.”
Psalms 102:25-27 NLT
Creation will change; grow old or decay. God does not change. He is always the same. It will be ungodly for God the creator to change as his creations do.
God did not change, he has remained the same from before the world was to date.
What changed then between the Old and New Testament? Men. Men changed; they changed their perception and understanding of God.
In the Old Testament the character of God was not clearly understood. Also men lacked understanding of the world they lived in, in fact men are still learning the world around them. Lastly, the character of the enemy was not known.
In the New Testament, the teachings in four gospels and the epistles made a distinction between the character of God, men and the enemy.
We see a God who is the same, yesterday, today and forever in the person of Jesus Christ. A character that is consistent with the teachings of the prophets of the Old Testament.
When Philip asked Jesus to show them the Father, this was was Jesus reply:
“Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

Today, God is clearly seen from the Old and New Testament books of the Bible in Jesus.
Not bipolar but God. Not two but one true and everlasting God.
God does not change, you need to; change your mindset of him to; ONE GOD, CONSISTENT IN CHARACTER.
