GOD— OMNIPOTENT!

"Omipotent: Having unlimited power, force or authority."

Many of us might have lost track of how often we've claimed God to be the aforementioned—Omnipotent. But have we ever truly stopped to brood on what just this says about him? Well, let's do so today!

Now, for someone to be termed 'Omnipotent', this means that such a person is all-mighty—in other words, this person possesses unlimited authority. This basically means that we're saying that there is no one, anywhere else, that can match up to said person in might, power or authority.

All in all, the omnipotent one calls the shots and isn't restricted in any form or manner by anything or by anyone.

So if we as humans regularly refer to the Lord Jesus Christ as omnipotent, then we're actually agreeing with the scripture that states this:

"Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth—even those long ago dead and buried—will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father."

—Philippians 2:9–11 (Message Version; emphasis, mine)

Basically, the power of anything and everything created, no matter what it is or what name it bears,—sickness or sin, death or demons—pales drastically when compared to the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. It's a fact that is as beautiful as the One who made it so, for our sakes.

With this in mind, no matter what comes our way, we must learn to remind our hearts, and fix our gaze on the never-changing almightiness of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Right now, you might be wondering, "If God really is Omnipotent, then how come it doesn't seem like it at times, when people pray and it's like God isn't doing anything?". Well beloved, my answer and charge to you, is this:

"For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God."

—2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV)

This tells us that God's omnipotence has been made so available, that for every promise there's already his ever sure stamp—his "Yes"—attached. And so, our only limit would be the expanse of our "Amen".

Like a popular cartoon would say, "Everything the light touches, is yours". And in this case, light for us, is our knowledge of just what the promises of God in Christ are for us, and an always overflowing understanding of the boundless power of Jesus.

We must learn to stir up our faith by daily coming to this realisation, and resting on the exceedingly limitless power of the Lord Jesus!
