WHO RUN THE WORLD 4( DEBUNKING THE OLD MYTH)

(Please note that this is a continuation from the previous week's update.)

Wisdom: Dede and Adrenaline, I will like you to pay close attention to what I am about to say. When Paul used the phrase “the god of this world”, his intention was to point the Corinthian church to the reason why men will not receive the gospel of Christ.

 

Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:4, that the effect of the blindness on men is unbelief. So, the verse is focused on the reason why men will reject the glorious gospel of Christ which they have preached with all openness. ( 2 Corinthians 4:2). 

 

Now, you need to ask yourself some very important questions. Why do men reject the gospel? What stops people today from receiving the gospel of Christ? 

 

My answer to the above is because they will rather believe in false philosophies, the ways of men, the ways that appeal to their senses rather than believe the simplicity of the gospel. Below are scriptural backups:

 

“To preach the message of the cross seems like sheer nonsense to those who are on their way to destruction, but to us who are on our way to salvation, it is the mighty power of God released within us.”

(1 Corinthians 1:18, TPT)

 

 

“For the Jews constantly demand to see miraculous signs, while those who are not Jews constantly cling to the world’s wisdom,”

(1 Corinthians 1:22 TPT)

So, when Paul will talked about “the god of this world” blinding the eyes of men, his emphasis was on the reason for their unbelief. “The god of this world" in 2 Corinthians 4:4 will point to the philosophies and the systems of men that appeals to the sinful man. What some of us might know as 'Babylon'. 

 

Do note that the devil may or may not sponsor these philosophies or systems. Let’s say he does sponsor them or influences men to stick with them, does that make him the god of this world? No! God is not God because he influences people.

 

Now that we know that the devil is not the god of this world, neither is he the lord nor has authority over this world.

Let us go further to see who truly RUN THE WORLD!
