Please note, this is a continuation from last week post.
I know the last thing you want to hear right now is another sermon. I am not about to preach one. I only want to show you who truly run the world.
Adrenaline, when Paul used the phrase “the god of this world” he was not referring to Satan as many have taught or been taught. He was not pointing to Satan as the creator of the world, neither was he referring to Satan as the Lord over the earth or having authority to rule the earth. No!
That would be against scriptural truth, which says; “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1 KJV)
“But for us there is only one God, who is the Father. All things come from him and we live for him. There is only one Lord, who is Jesus Christ. He made everything by his power. And he causes us to continue living by his power.
(1 Corinthians 8:6 EASY)
With the above scriptures we know now what “the god of this world” does not mean!
The question now is, what does Paul mean when he used the phrase “The god of this world”?
Dede and Adrenaline, doing a little study on 2 Corinthians 4:4 shows some other translation use “this age” in place of “this world”. Further letting us know the world in that scripture was not talking about earth or better put the globe.
Adrenaline: So what exactly was the Bible referring to then? What does “this age” mean?
In my opinion, what we see in every sector: education, finance, health, information, the media, even entertainment is nothing but ‘control’ and “the who” behind this is pretty much obvious.
Or would we say God has permitted the devil a certain level of influence in the world?
Wisdom: To say God has permitted the devil a certain level of influence in the world is to say God and the devil are partners. If God permits Satan to do evil, it is a good as saying God does evil.
Again, contradicting scriptures: “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
(1 John 1:5 KJV)
“Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change.”
(James 1:17 TPT)
God has never done evil. He is incapable of permitting evil. The scriptures are clear on that.
Now, what does Paul mean by “the god of this age”?... To be continued.
