For some weeks now we have carefully examined the relationship between the thoughts of our hearts, the words we speak and the tangible realities we will live in.
And in our last conversation, we established that there are portals to the seeds or weeds sown in our hearts, we shall be considering one of them which is our ears.
Some episodes ago, we read through the story of the twelve spies after they had spied on the land and the reaction of the Israelites after they gave their report.
But his fellow scouts said, We are not able to go up against the people [of Canaan], for they are stronger than we are. So they brought the Israelites an evil report of the land which they had scouted out, saying, The land through which we went to spy it out is a land that devours its inhabitants. And all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature.
AND ALL the congregation cried out with a loud voice, and [they] wept that night. All the Israelites grumbled and deplored their situation, accusing Moses and Aaron, to whom the whole congregation said, Would that we had died in Egypt! Or that we had died in this wilderness! Why does the Lord bring us to this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and little ones will be a prey. Is it not better for us to return to Egypt?
Numbers 13:31-32, 14:1-3
After the spies returned and painted gory and frightening pictures of what they had seen, it immediately sent shivers of fear and pandemonium in the whole nation. The children of Israel were no longer interested in the promised land that God had promised their forefather Abraham- a land they had longed and prayed for many years. All because they heard the wrong thing.
The word of God makes us to understand
So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).

In summary, fear or faith implanted in one's heart pass through one medium- HEARING.
