Love never fades!
Good day beloved.
So today you woke up, amazed and beyond overwhelmed at the number of things around you that have changed in what you would call "the blink of an eye". New knowledge is springing up everywhere. People are finding out more things about the world and themselves. And you've seen this lead to issues among your friends.You've seen friendships that you were so sure were meant to be life-long come to an end. So many of them unable to deal with just how much the other changed: how different their views now are.
Right now, you are here wondering if there's any end to it. This change that seems to be occurring around you every millisecond: the pace of everything you see looking so fast and uncontrollable and impossible to adjust to.
Well, fortunately and unfortunately, this change will never stop. I say fortunately because for almost all of us, change is a spice that makes life an enjoyable feast.
However, do you know something? There is one thing that stays constant in the midst of all this. The one thing that can be our guarantee in a world of never ending changes. This is Love. Now when I refer to love, I'm talking about a person, and that person is God. The Bible tells us something:
"love never stops loving. It extends beyond the gift of prophecy, which eventually fades away. It is more enduring than tongues, which will one day fall silent. Love remains long after words of knowledge are forgotten."[1 Corinthians 13:8, The Passion Translation]
I like to say it this way: "love never fades!". It never ever changes. Why? Because love is God's very essence and God remains unchanging, now and forever. Why? Because nothing can be added to or removed from Him. All our lives we get to learn more about this God. About His love. And whenever it feels like God has changed, it's actually just us seeing Him differently, from a different angle or a newer perspective.
"So, what do you expect me to do with this information?" you might be asking.
Well that's simple! I want you to hold on to it. Hold on to it so tightly, so even in your darkest moments, when things seem to be spinning so wildly and out of control, and everything and everyone seems to be changing, you can remember that there is one who stays constant: the only one who matters. And as long as you have Him in this world, you are going to be okay.
Go through the Bible. Take out time to see God's promises of never ending love towards you. Take out time to know a love so deep, that your roots can never get shaken by the winds of change. Come to know of a love that is the only constant in the midst of several variables.
