Emotions are mental reactions that arise from within us in response to what is either happening in us or outside us.
Some of these emotions include; Anger, fear, sadness, disgust, excitement, contempt, etc.
We can all relate to the emotions listed above. One thing about these emotions is that they can get out of the control of the mind where they stem from.
Since they stem from the mind, they will a certain dominance over the body and always drives the body in the direction they are willed.
Let’s take the first on the list, “ANGER”.
Everyday and for many reasons people get angry. Many friendships, families,businesses and nations have been destroyed because of anger.
Anger not tamed or put in check will wreck havoc continually to the one who vents it and eventually to others.
“If you are angry, you cannot do any of the good things God wants done.” (James 1:20 CEVDCI).
In fact, when you get angry and you let it control what you say, the actions you take or don’t take. You will be acting outside the will of God for that situation.
And you will open the door for the enemy to manipulate you to his advantage. No wonder, when people let their anger control them, they take actions after which they blame the devil, “It was the devil’s fault”.
So, how do we marry getting angry and not letting it control us?
“But don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin! Don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day. Don’t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you!”
(Ephesians 4:26-27 TPT)
So, this is it, if you must get angry, put a check on it, by not letting your anger lead you to do anything that will not bring about the goodness of God.
You want revenge, you want to talk back, you want the person to feel the pain of what they did to you. Is that in line with what God will have you do?
The new creation man can tame his anger to the point that it is as if he never gets angry.
DECLARE THIS: I am not a tool to be manipulated by the devil. I will not let my anger lead me to sin. I am full of joy.
