Standing before you, looking at your eyes, I must say thatthey are beautiful. I could stare at them for all eternity. Your lips are.. your lips... wait! They remind me of… I have seen you before. I can see me.. No that's not it... I am you!
- Man in the mirror.
Some scientist say the mind of a newborn is empty, they call this theory the "Tabula rasa". It holds that individuals are born without in-built mental content and that therefore all knowledge comes from experience or perception.
The believer in Christ, is somewhat so. Only that for him the knowledge of himself is not from experience or perception. The believer is on a journey of discovering who he is.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV
The above scripture tells us how the believer makes his journey to the full discovery of himself. It is by staring into the mirror that holds his perfect image - Christ.
Today, many persons around the world spend their lifetime trying to be like their idols or a celebrity out there.
They struggle to align themselves with the world.
The way the world view things, the way the world talks.
People are scared to be unique. Scared to speak except everybody is speaking.
For you as a believer, your goal is to reflect the man in the mirror. The mirror to look into is Christ, and as you keep your gaze on him, you are transformed to a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
Don't join the bandwagon of those who seek to be like the world, you are not of this world. You are unique! You are Christ.
