ALL ROUND HEALTH

I was in a meeting sometime last week and the teacher quoted Jeremiah 8:22 and she went ahead to open us up to a different part of this scripture, I want to share what I learnt that day here. 

Prior to this time I have only looked at this scripture in terms of physical health, that is when someone is sick in the body. 

She went ahead to say, "health which includes physical, mental and social wellbeing". Then it dawned on me, this is exactly the definition of health by the World Health Organization (WHO).

This changed my whole picture of the above scripture, now this is how I see Jeremiah 8:22 

“Isn’t there medicine in Gilead? Aren’t there doctors there? Then why hasn’t the health (physical , mental and social wellbeing) of my dear people been restored?” ( Jeremiah 8:22 GW), emphasis mine.

In the above scripture God was asking, "is there no medicine in Gilead? Is there no Physician too? Why are people sick in their body, their mind and why are they socially unfit ? 

Today, we know that Christ is the great physician and by his stripes he healed us and by his word which is more potent than medicine we are kept whole. 

So, it means that we are covered in every aspect of health. We have in Christ Jesus, Sound Physical, mental, and social wellbeing. 

Further more, as the father has sent Jesus, so he has sent us, meaning every born again child of God is a physician ( that is why Jesus Christ is called the great physician) and can administer sound physical, mental and social wellbeing to anyone needing it. 

This is the heritage of the believer “ they shall lay hands on the sick,( physically, mentally and socially sick) and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:18 KJV), emphasis mine. 

Are you excited as I was when I heard this ? I saw that the health in Jeremiah 8:22 goes beyond physical health and also every believer can administer same to all around them who are in need of health.
