Most often than not, the grass is greener on the other side. We are quick to discard what we have in search of what others own. Our biggest dream is to look like the next man, we spend our lives chasing another man’s dream. We fail to understand, the grass is green on the other side because the owner stayed to work it.
We live in a world where almost everything is delivered at the press of a button, life is lived on a fast track, Fast food, fast cash, get rich quick or die trying. The days of laying foundations before we build, sowing seeds before we reap are fast disappearing. This generation begins a building first, by roofing, we want to reap without sowing.
We set our eyes on the prize, good! But we despise the process. Before you leave what you do in search of what another man is doing, ask yourself, “have I truly paid the price?” “Am I leaving to live another man’s dream?”
Mordecai’s job was at the king’s gate, where he diligently carried his duty, faithful in his job. He manned his post. Wherehe heard of the plot to assassinate the king. Imagine if he had left his post for greener pastures, he would have missed an opportunity to save the kings life, a rare one which spared his life and promoted him eventually. (Esther 2:21, 6:1-23).
A Burmese saying goes this way “slowly slowly catchee monkey”. Please, don’t shoot yourself five minutes before the reprieve. Put in a little work, put in a little patience, work your lawn, make it green and it will be.
The problem with Jack of all trade, master of none is not because he involves in many trades but because he jumps from one to another, he never sees anyone through. One notable characteristic of the end time church is, “THEY SHALL NOT BREAK THEIR RANKS”, they don’t run from pillar to post, they are focus.
The scripture says, “FOR AS LONG AS EARTH LASTS, PLANTING AND HARVEST, COLD AND HEAT, SUMMER AND WINTER, DAY AND NIGHT WILL NEVER STOP." (Genesis 8:22 MSG). Don’t go after another man’s harvest when it is your planting season.
GO ACHIIEVE
