ONE MAN CAN CHANGE A NATION

Hi friends, I believe you are burning with zeal for the New Year. To do more, to become more and to achieve more. Keep the fire burning daily. Let these three words fuel your day; Inspiration, Aspiration and celebration. In other words get inspired, aspire for more and celebrate life.

        This is a sequel to my last post; “if it will be; then it is up to you”. I believe by now we understand that whether we succeed or fail it lies in our hand. It is within our power to achieve more or less. With this foundation clearly established, I will like us to go a little further. Today I want to point to you the power of one man –one man can change a nation.

     One man can change a nation, now that sounds like an enormous task to accomplish. “What can one man do in a nation of over 50 million people?” You may be asking this question, I think it is a good one. The truth is nothing ever really begins with a multitude, yes, many people might be involved in it, but it always starts from one man. From a single thought, to an idea, which when acted upon attracts followers.
Take a look at any establishment in the world, any movement, they all started from one man’s thought. In fact God is into the one man business. When he created man, He began with one man –Adam, before Eve and men multiplied. All along, His intention for creating the man was to fill the earth with billions of men, but He started with a man. Today see how many people we have in the world, over 7 billion people.

      When God wanted to bring salvation to mankind –one man, the man Jesus. Countless examples of one man being or making the difference surrounds us, and all through history we can pick them out.

        Certainly, there are things which can be better in your family, in your place of work, in your locality, in your state, in your nation and believe me, in the world. You can bring in the required change. You can take a stand to make your nation better. It may sound overwhelming. Truth is, nobody expects you to start big, you can start small, remember it took one man for God to fill the earth with men, a perfect example of starting small.

          Maybe you are saying I don’t have what it takes to begin with. You are looking at tangible resources like money and connections. Believe me you can change the world from where you are now, reading this. No matter what conditions you find yourself now you can inspire a transformation that will make your family, work place, nation and the world a better place.

         Remember Joseph in the bible? He was a slave in Egypt, thrown into prison by Potiphar. While in prison he affected lives by interpreting dreams for the prisoners. Now, that is starting small. Starting small in the prison made room for him to transform Egypt when the seven years of famine came. Because he was faithful with small, he could tell pharaoh the way out of the famine and Egypt was saved. Do you know another shocking thing? The world was saved for this act of his. For the famine was in all the world and everyone came to Egypt to buy food.
See for yourself;
When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt. And all the countries came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the world. Gen 41:56-57 (NIV)

 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will not be plowing and reaping. But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. Gen 45:5-7 (NIV)

            It is clear that one man –Joseph, saved Egypt, saved Israel and saved the world. All by starting small in the prison. Today we have so many examples of men and women who have changed their families, work place, and nation and in extension the world. Let’s get inspired by a few out of the millions. Time will fail me to talk about;

Mahatma Gandhi, Christopher Columbus, Martin Luther King, Jr, Bill Gates, Mother Teresa, Mary Slessor, Billy Graham, Kenneth Hagin, Papa Enoch Adeboye, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Fidelis Iluebbey, Mark Zukerberg, TY Bello, Frank Edwards, Mo Abudu, Pastor Chris Ugoh.

 The list is inexhaustive and can go on. You are enough to begin a transformation. You have all that it takes to change the world. You can change your nation. As you go on taking steps to make your nation a better place, remember this;

One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring,
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul,
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal,
One step starts each journey,
One hope can raise our spirits,
One heart can know what is true,
One life can make the difference,
One man can change the world,
YOU CAN CHANGE A NATION.
