As we conclude I want you to know that true forgiveness; forgiving and forgetting is one hundred and ten percent possible.
It is not reserved for God alone. It is an attribute of God which comes to Him without Him trying. God forgives and never remembers our wrong.
As believers in Christ, we are in Christ we are in Union with God. We share his DNA, his character and traits are ours to exhibit daily as we walk the earth.
We don’t lack the ability to forgive and forget. We may lack the knowledge but never the ability, because it is inherent in us as heirs of God.
“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”
1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV
The spirit of God in us and as one empowers us to forgive just like God does.
This knowledge is yours now, let go of the hurt from your father, mother, siblings, friends, neighbors or associates.
No matter the wrong you have the power to forgive and not burden yourself with this hurt.
Finally friends;
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”
Ephesians 5:1-2 KJV
How do we follow God if we don’t forgive as he does? We would not be walking in love as Christ did if we refuse to forgive all who have hurt us, no matter how painful it is.
Someone betrayed your love? Maybe they took from you what can never be replaced; my admonition to you from the scriptures is that you be a follower of God and forgive.
We don’t forgive because people repent or change their ways, we forgive even if they are deeply grieving us. This goodness of ours will empower them to repentance.
We forgive, we forget, this is our character as believers in Christ. It is a measure of our understanding of the spirituality we have in God.
