LOVE SERIES 2

The one who Jesus loves

Ifeoluwa Akinsanya, I take it you do not understand it yet, I somewhat fear you don’t get it at all.”
JideI ..
“Please, I am not finished Ife” Jide held his hand up,
“On the 20th of March 2006, I stood before God and man, making public a decision which I had in my heart. The decision to be with you, to stand by you and honor you come what may. The decision to embrace all of you- the good, bad and the ugly. The decision to cover and protect you. The decision of choosing you every single day of my life; the decision to chase you with all of my being. The decision that makes sense because I said yes to Jesus, holding nothing back.”

Ife began to sob and Jide came closer and took her hands in his.
“Ife, it was totally hard at first. I mean, how could the Almighty God want anything to do with an ex-convict? All the evil I had done just gone with a simple prayer- just believing? And that He has plans of a great future for me when I’d already given up on myself? It was all too much to grasp at once.”

“But you know what? The more I ran, the more He pursued; the more I struggled, the more he wooed. And it didn’t stop when I said Yes, It only grew. It was then I decided that I would let go and fall hard because His love is an endless ocean. I would drown in the depths and explore the heights. I, Babajide Maxwell Akinsanya am a love being-borne in love, growing in live and made perfect in love. I’m fully persuaded that nothing can separate me from his love. My life shall be an expression of this love. I am he whom Jesus loves!

Today’s post is inspired by the great apostle of love, John the beloved- author of the Gospel according to John, I,II and III John, and the book of Revelation. Having walked so closely with Jesus (being with him in the transfiguration, witnessing the raising of  Jairus daughter), John took a step further and personalized his love for Jesus. Six times in the book of John, He referred himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved (John13:23-25;19:26-27;20:2;21:7,20,24). How profound! Little wonder that after this,he went on to write about God’s love in I John

Dear reader, I challenge you today to personalize this love. Perhaps you have been pacing at the shore afraid of the depths. Many ‘what ifs?’ plaguing your mind. Can’t you Jesus calling? Yes you’re saved but charity hasn’t had her perfect work yet. You struggle with bitterness, pains of the past, anger and you can’t seem to forgive yourself for the mistakes you have made. There is a more excellent way. Take off  yourshoes and take a dive into the ocean of Agape; drown? Sink? Swim? The waves whisking you off to unexplored sites? I can’t say but this I can assure you- You will never remain the same.
To the one who Jesus loves.
