CASTING YOUR CARES

Beloved, it's already the last week in this wonderful month of January and while some of us can't wait for it to come to an end, others seem to dread it for it would mean another month of unfinished plans, unachieved results and unattained goals.
The English Advanced Learners Dictionary gives a third definition of the word "care" in one word, - "worry". I aso sure that millions of us are aware of the fact that the Bible tells us to worry or fear notbut at times it seems to feel like we can't help but do so. When pressure's mounting, needs aren't instantly been met, and expectations for either ourselves or for the people around us keep getting cut short, it is so easy to want to slip into despair and worry. For some of us, we have so taken stock of our cares that it has clogged all sense of reasoning and has even gone as far as to affect our heart relationship with the Father.
Today thoughand for the rest of our lives the Lord wants us to know something: that we can put all our worries and burdens on Him. In fact, the Bible makes it clear that he expects it from us. Why? Because He is our faithful shepherd who can never ever forget usand He cares about us completely(Isaiah 49:15; 1 Peter 5:7; Matthew 6:31-32).

We are told to lean on God. He is aware of every difficulty we face, every goal we've put up, and every thought of worry that threatens to leap up in our hearts. Our shepherd knows us intimately. He is aware of our makeup(after all He made us) and knows just how much certain things can get to us. He is aware of all the plans we've set up for ourselves and how burdened we can get when we haven't been able to actualise them. And daily He gives just one antidote which we can note in Philippians 4:6:
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God"(King James Version
The Bible says that God knows we have need of the basic necessities and even more. If we can come to realise just how much He cares and how willing He is to act and war on our behalf, we would follow Philippians 4:6 to the last dot and find a never ending assurance in His person. Make it a daily practice to tell our Father,God of all your present cares and from a place of total trust and belief thank Him with the knowledge that because He cares for you and has gone before you everything would in the end work together for your good. You are loved!
