It is common to find people who pray for their countries and yet speak ill of the same country. They pray for the electioneering process and yet when it's time to vote they stay away from it.
It is outdated and shows lack of understanding for believers to label civic duties guarded by the law of the land where they live as worldly.
Remember as Christians we are the light of this world,( John 8:12). As light we aught to shine in darkness.
If we label the electioneering process or whatever process that selects leaders in our society evil or darkness and thus stay away from the process then we will never be able to shine our light in that community and darkness will reign and we will suffer for it because we choose not to be a part of it.
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV)
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” (Romans 13:1 KJV)
As we move closer to elections in our nation , don't be passive, pray for the process, don't end with prayers, go on to vote and please go on to help people see how to vote especially believers. Passivity promotes injustice.
We must have the kingdom of God in mind when we make the decision of whom to vote. It must not necessarily be a Christian but one who in the past, present and in the future will not be against the kingdom.
How would you know? By the Spirit of God in you. Nothing is circular or worldly in itself but all things are first spiritual. Be led as you vote.
